She joined Cone in 2016, leads the design and management of a wide variety of residential and mixed-use projects, and is managing Cone Architecture’s office in Charlotte, NC. Terzic earned a MArch from the University of Washington and has over 6 years of multifamily, mixed use, and tenant improvement experience. Cone?provides?architectural design, planning, project management, and construction administration services.

He joins the PH consulting team with over 20 years of engineering expertise. Lauzen is a civil engineering graduate from the University of Washington. At PH Consulting, he will apply his experience to the full suite of design, planning, and engineering services offered by the firm.

Akana

Akana was recognized as one of Bechtel Corporation’s top subcontractors for the companies work on the US Army Pueblo Chemical Agent Pilot Plant Project in Colorado. Akana supported Bechtel by providing independent third-party quality assurance audits of facility changes required to process a new munition type through the plant. Akana was able to quickly field a team of chemical agent processing experts to complete the audit and was successful in getting state approval to begin operations. Akana is a Native American owned professional services firm helping clients plan, design, engineer and manage projects in the built environment.

Madrona

Madrona has appointed three new strategic directors: Sunny Gupta, Charlotte Hubbert and Mark Nelson. Gupta, Hubbert and Nelson will work with Madrona portfolio company founders and executives, sharing their insight and operating experiences as leaders in their industries. Gupta is the co-founder and CEO of Apptio. Since founding Madrona-backed Apptio in 2007, he pioneered a market category, Technology Business Management, and led Apptio to an IPO in 2016 and through its subsequent acquisition by Vista Equity Partners. He is a current board member at Gainsight. Hubbert is senior director of business development and strategic alliances at Nanostring. She was previously partner and head of Gates Foundation Venture Capital, a $500M initiative at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Strategic Investment Fund. Hubbert currently holds board seats at City of Hope, LUCA Biologics and Entrinsic Health Solution. Nelson is the president and CEO of Tableau, a Salesforce company. Prior to that, he was the CTO at Concur, working closely with Madrona managing director Steve Singh. Additionally, Madrona recently added full time investment professionals Aseem Datar, Maria Gilfoyle, Sabrina Wu and Birkan Uzun. Madrona is a venture capital firm based in Seattle, and invests predominantly in seed and Series A rounds across the information technology spectrum.

Era Software

Seattle-based Era Software, a company that helps enterprises observe cloud services and infrastructures, was named the winner of the 2021 Tech Trailblazer Award in the Big Data category. Founded in 2012, the Tech Trailblazers Awards is an independent awards program dedicated to enterprise technology startups, helping identify innovative companies, concepts and individuals in a range of categories. Winners are identified by a combination of judging panel opinions and public vote. Era Software received the award for its real-time and cost-optimized observability and analytics platform that empowers enterprises to move from petabytes of log data to insights in seconds.

NW Natural Holding’s board of directors has elected a new member, Sandra McDonough, effective Jan. 1. McDonough most recently served as president and CEO of Oregon Business & Industry, Oregon’s largest statewide general business organization. She joined OBI in 2018, after serving 14 years as the president and CEO of the Portland Business Alliance. McDonough spent two decades in the energy industry, including as vice president, external affairs, for PG&E National Energy Group and vice president, communications and external affairs, for PG&E Gas Transmission Northwest. Before that she was a newspaper reporter for The Oregonian and Seattle Times. McDonough was also elected to the board of directors of Northwest Natural Gas, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary. Northwest Natural Holding is headquartered in Portland, and has been doing business for over 160 years in the Pacific Northwest.

Lumen Technologies

Native Seattleite Eileen Fisher has been named vice president of strategic alliances at Lumen Technologies. Fisher will focus on streamlining product, operations, and go-to-market activities with Lumen strategic partners, as well as establishing new alliance partnerships. She brings experience successfully developing and managing technology partnerships and innovative go-to-market models. Prior to joining Lumen, Fisher led technology alliances at OutSystems. She also spent a significant part of her career at Microsoft contributing to the launch of the .NET Framework, the inaugural Azure launch. Fisher holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from University of Washington.

Wenatchee Works

Alcoa announced the closure of 146,000 metric tons of aluminum smelting capacity at the Wenatchee Works aluminum smelter located in the state of Washington. The process to permanently decommission the smelter, which has been idle since 2015, will begin immediately to prepare the site for potential redevelopment. Cash outlays related to the permanent closure of the site are expected to be approximately $60 million over the next seven years, with approximately $10 million to be spent in 2022. The site includes approximately 2,800 acres with intermodal transportation and utility infrastructure. The site currently employs 18 people, some of whom will remain to assist with demolition and redevelopment work.

HomeStreet Bank

The commercial banking division of HomeStreet Bank is expanding their commercial services into Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaiian native, Melitajean “Mel” Racadio, will lead the commercial operations on the island. Racadio started her career 30 years ago at the Bank of Hawaii. HomeStreet is a diversified financial services company headquartered in Seattle. Its principal subsidiaries are HomeStreet Bank and HomeStreet Capital Corporation. HomeStreet Bank is the winner of the 2022 “Best Small Bank” in Washington Newsweek magazine award.
