WESTFIELD — The Westfield Wolverines rallied in second doubles to defeat the Dunkirk Marauders 3-2 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West League boys tennis on Tuesday.
Westfield (1-0, 1-0) swept doubles competition with the duo of Cody Hoffman and Tahner Stow defeating Dunkirk’s Sebastian Degolier and Samuel Texidor 6-0, 6-3 in first doubles. Collin Hoffman and Rachel Eggleston came back against Dunkirk’s Patton Green and Brennan Mead 3-6, 6-1 then 6-2 to win the match.
Westfield secured its first point in second singles as Mihir Patel defeated Zander Begier 6-2, 6-0.
Dunkirk’s (0-1, 0-1) Ryan Willis topped Andrew Nellis 6-0, 6-0 in first singles and Shaun Vetter held off Micah Heim 7-5, 6-4 in third singles.
